Designed specifically for the cementation of porcelain, zirconia, and composite veneers, Choice 2 is a light-cure resin cement that offers excellent physical properties, low film thickness, and exceptional color stability, which is a critical factor for restorations in the esthetic zone. Shade shift is a common concern with dual-cure adhesive resin cements. According to BISCO, Choice 2 is uniquely formulated to hold its shade over time. Furthermore, it is available in a range of VITA® and chromatic shades, each with a corresponding try-in paste to facilitate an accurate preview of the shade prior to final placement.

Okuda has relied on these features extensively to achieve precise, esthetically lifelike results. “One of the key advantages of Choice 2 is its versatile shade selection,” he says. “The Milky Bright shade, for instance, helps subtly increase brightness when needed, whereas the A1 and A2 options introduce warmth for a more natural appearance. The accuracy of the try-in pastes provides both me and the patient with confidence in the final outcome.”

Another aspect of Choice 2 that has earned Okuda’s trust is its handling characteristics. “Its viscosity is ideal,” he explains. “It flows easily during placement but isn’t overly runny, which makes cleanup far more efficient. I’m also able to brush away excess cement around the margins prior to final curing without disturbing the material at the interface, which helps ensure seamless adaptation.”

In addition to Choice 2, Okuda uses the other products from BISCO’s complete veneer bonding system to ensure compatibility of the chemistry across all components of the protocol. “I firmly believe that successful veneer cases depend on using an integrated system where the primer, adhesive, and resin cement all come from the same manufacturer,” he says. “Mixing products from different sources introduces variables that can compromise bond strength and long-term color stability.”

Okuda’s protocol includes BISCO’s 9.5% hydrofluoric acid porcelain etchant, Bis-Silane® two-part silane primer, and All-Bond Universal® adhesive—all of which are used in conjunction with Choice 2.
