DEXIS has announced an update to its DTX Studio platform that adds expanded artificial intelligence capabilities and introduces a cloud-based synchronization tool for multi-location practices. According to the company, the release is designed to support diagnostic workflows, treatment planning, and collaboration across clinical teams and sites.
The update to DTX Studio Clinic v4.7 includes intelligent indicators, automated treatment planning features, and workflow changes powered by FDA-cleared AI. Clinicians can identify up to 15 diagnostic insights on 2D intraoral radiographs, including eight newly added restorative indicators such as crowns, bridges, and root canals. According to the company, full-mouth AI detection and layout are five times faster than previous versions.
The same FDA-cleared AI module is now integrated with DEXIS Imaging Suite, which the company states is intended to provide consistent diagnostic functionality across its ecosystem.
Enhancements in the new version include expanded AI indicators that detect up to 14 diagnostic insights with added restoration detection; enhanced caries visualization for clearer tooth views; bone measurement tools that measure alveolar bone levels and allow comparisons with previous exams; smart grouping that organizes findings by tooth or arch to reduce duplicates; customizable views that enable users to hide non-pathological changes and apply color-coded layers; advanced planning tools including STL export for jaws and teeth along with 3D panoramic and cephalometric imaging; workflow changes such as faster practice management system integration, implant update improvements, and a revised user interface; lab integration tools that simplify case sharing; and onboarding and upgrade adjustments intended to ease implementation.
According to the company, more than 50,000 clinics worldwide use DEXIS imaging platforms, processing over half a billion images annually. In 2025, DEXIS AI analyzed 120 million clinical findings.
DEXIS also introduced DTX Studio Go Sync, a cloud-native solution developed for practices operating in multiple locations. The system enables synchronization of patient records across sites, allowing clinicians to access imaging and diagnostic data from different locations. According to the company, the tool is designed to support continuity of care and data security.
The company reported additional integrations within its partner network. CephX integration enables AI-powered cephalometric analysis and direct upload for orthodontic cases; BeamReaders integration provides radiology review and CBCT case diagnosis; and Qlone integration adds 3D face scanning capabilities for restorative and orthodontic workflows. According to the company, these integrations are intended to support end-to-end workflows within an open platform.
“DEXIS is setting a new benchmark for digital dentistry,” said Robert Befidi, president at DEXIS. “Our mission is simple: to build intelligent solutions that empower clinicians to accelerate decision making, improve diagnostic confidence, and deliver care that patients can truly understand. This latest evolution brings FDA-cleared AI across our ecosystem—giving dental professionals powerful visual tools and seamless connectivity to labs and partners, so they can focus on the treatment story and the patient experience. It’s not just an upgrade; it’s proof that DEXIS leads the way in quality, innovation, and patient-focused solutions.”
DEXIS is part of the Envista family of brands and provides 2D and 3D imaging, intraoral scanning, and diagnostic software within a connected ecosystem. According to the company, its technologies are designed to streamline workflows, enhance diagnostic precision, increase productivity, and support patient outcomes.
