Henry Schein One has announced a direct data integration between Align Technology’s iTero intraoral scanners and its practice management platforms, Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Dentally. According to the company, the integration connects digital scanning, diagnosis, and daily operations within a unified workflow.
Developed in collaboration with Align Technology, the integration automatically imports iTero scans into patient records, eliminating manual uploads, duplicate workflows, and system switching. According to the company, the connection enables teams to move from scan to care within a single environment and was achieved through technology and resource investments.
“Today’s dental teams need technology that supports clinical confidence as much as operational efficiency,” said Dr. Ryan Hungate, chief clinical and strategy officer at Henry Schein One. “As a result of these technology investments, clinicians have immediate access to diagnostic insights inside their Dentrix, Ascend, and Dentally workflow—providing an opportunity to strengthen decision-making at scale.”
According to the company, the integration supports care coordination and simplifies daily operations, allowing practices to spend more time with patients and less time managing technology. Through Dentally, these workflows extend to cloud-based practices across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
The initial program for the integration was completed with Heartland Dental.
“Heartland Dental has partnered with Dentrix and iTero for years, making this next step a natural evolution. Together, we’re advancing technology that simplifies clinical workflows, strengthens insurance documentation, and gives our supported doctors and hygienists more time for what matters most—caring for patients and elevating its experience,” said Mark Greenstein, executive vice president, and chief growth officer of Heartland Dental.
According to the company, the integration imports iTero scans directly into the patient chart to support treatment planning workflows and documentation.
Align Technology develops products including the Invisalign System, iTero intraoral scanners and digital services, and exocad CAD/CAM software. Over the past 28 years, Align reports that doctors have treated more than 22 million patients with the Invisalign System.
More than 75,000 locations across the United States and over 600,000 dental professionals rely on Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend, according to the company. Combined with Dentally’s international footprint, Henry Schein One supports a broad digital ecosystem in oral healthcare.
“Digital solutions are transforming how care is delivered within dental practices,” said Sreelakshmi Kolli, executive vice president, chief product and digital officer, Align Technology. “This integration enables clinicians to move from insight to action faster and deliver an enhanced patient experience.”
The iTero–Dentrix–Dentrix Ascend–Dentally integration is available to eligible customers in North America and select international markets, with additional regions planned depending on regulatory clearance and local requirements.
Henry Schein One will present the integration at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting. Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend will be featured at Booth No. 3019 from February 19–21, 2026. According to the company, more information is available at www.henryscheinone.com.
