DEXIS has announced updates to its lab-to-clinic workflow solutions during recent industry events in Chicago, including LMT Lab Day and the Chicago Midwinter Meeting. The updates focus on advancing digital collaboration between dental laboratories and clinical practices through a cloud-based, software-driven platform approach.
The company outlined continued development of an open, integrated ecosystem intended to support interoperability and facilitate communication between laboratories, clinics, and third-party software providers.
Introduction of IS Connect Cloud for Labs
Central to the announcement is the launch of DEXIS IS Connect Cloud for Labs, a transition of the existing platform to a fully cloud-based environment. According to the company, the update is designed to improve accessibility and flexibility for laboratory users.
The platform includes a redesigned responsive user interface intended to enhance usability across devices. As an open system, IS Connect Cloud supports integration with laboratory management systems (LMS) and other software solutions commonly used in dental laboratory operations. Additional features include support for multiple users per site, which may be particularly relevant for larger organizations, and the ability for laboratories to incorporate their specific service offerings directly into the platform.
DEXIS also introduced a new application programming interface (API) intended to streamline integrations with partner systems and reduce development timelines. The company reported that Amann Girrbach integrated its systems with the updated platform using the new API.
“Labs are essential to delivering outstanding patient care, and we want every interaction with DEXIS to feel seamless,” shares Robert Befidi, President of DEXIS. “These enhancements and integrations are focused on removing friction—making it easier for labs to connect with clinics, and for clinics to trust the workflow behind every case. By strengthening our cloud platform and expanding our integrations across the industry, we’re empowering labs to work the way they want, with the tools they choose, so they can stay focused on what matters most: creating exceptional outcomes for patients.”
Expanded Integrations Across the DEXIS Ecosystem
DEXIS also detailed expanded integrations across its software portfolio aimed at supporting digital case collaboration and workflow continuity. Newly highlighted integrations include:
Amann Girrbach – Integration supports data exchange between clinics and laboratories to facilitate digital case collaboration and workflow management.
exocad – Expanded connectivity between scanning, design, and production workflows is intended to support continuity from data capture through fabrication.
Labtrac – Integration links clinical data with laboratory management operations to support case tracking, communication, and operational oversight.
Dental professionals attending LMT Lab Day and the Chicago Midwinter Meeting (February 19–21, Chicago) were invited to review these workflow updates and integrations during the events.
The announcements reflect ongoing developments in cloud-based interoperability and digital workflow integration within laboratory–clinic collaboration models.
