Black Talon Security and Henry Schein One's TechCentral have entered into a reseller agreement that will make the EAGLEi™ cybersecurity platform available to dental practices using Henry Schein One technology. The agreement is intended to expand access to continuous cybersecurity monitoring and threat management for practices utilizing Dentrix® and Dentrix Ascend® practice management software.
The collaboration combines Henry Schein One's IT infrastructure and practice management services with Black Talon's cybersecurity platform, which is designed specifically for dental environments. According to the companies, the offering provides an additional layer of security intended to help practices address evolving cyber threats, including ransomware and social engineering attacks, while supporting HIPAA compliance efforts.
The EAGLEi platform is designed to integrate with existing practice technology environments and emphasizes continuous threat monitoring rather than periodic security assessments.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the team at Henry Schein One to make sophisticated cybersecurity practical and accessible for dental practices,” said Gary Salman, Chief Executive Officer at Black Talon. “Our shared philosophy acknowledges that strong IT operations and dedicated cybersecurity must work hand-in-hand. With more than 2,400 dental locations already relying on Black Talon as their cyber expert, this channel relationship with TechCentral made sense to ensure the customers they serve are secured by a solution that understands the unique needs of dental practices.”
The announcement comes as cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, with attackers increasingly incorporating artificial intelligence into efforts to identify vulnerabilities in healthcare networks. The EAGLEi platform is intended to support ongoing cyber readiness through multiple security measures tailored to dental practices.
Key features include:
- Continuous, 24/7 threat monitoring supported by a Security Operations Center.
- Automated vulnerability management that regularly scans endpoints and remediates eligible system vulnerabilities.
- Daily firewall testing to identify potential configuration issues.
- Biannual penetration testing conducted by credentialed ethical hackers to evaluate network defenses.
- Ongoing cybersecurity awareness training designed for dental team members and aligned with HIPAA training requirements.
- Cyber risk reporting intended to help practices monitor their overall security posture and prioritize security initiatives.
“Dental practices increasingly need access to the kind of advanced security capabilities that were once available only to large enterprises,” said Alan Rencher, Chief Technology Officer at Henry Schein One. “By making EAGLEi available to our TechCentral customers, we are giving practices a path to more sophisticated threat detection, monitoring, and response than traditional IT tools provide. This reflects Henry Schein One's commitment to connected, efficient technology that supports practice success, helping dental teams safeguard their livelihoods and helping protect patients from identity theft and fraud.”
According to the companies, the platform also provides centralized reporting intended to give dental service organizations (DSOs) and multi-location practices greater visibility into cybersecurity risks across their organizations. By consolidating security information into a single dashboard, the system is designed to support collaboration between executive leadership and IT teams while helping standardize security controls across multiple practice locations.
EAGLEi will be available to dental organizations using Dentrix or Dentrix Ascend with an active TechCentral Care or Omnicore subscription.
