TheraBreath has expanded its oral care portfolio with a new dentist-formulated toothpaste designed for patients experiencing tooth sensitivity. TheraBreath Sensitive Toothpaste features an SLS-free formula developed to help relieve sensitive tooth pain, providing 24/7 sensitivity relief with twice daily brushing while neutralizing the source of bad breath in laboratory tests.
Dental professionals attending the Chicago Midwinter Meeting can be among the first to experience the product. Samples of the new toothpaste line will be distributed at the Church & Dwight Hygiene Squad booth No. 2006, which features ARM & HAMMER Toothpaste, TheraBreath, and Waterpik brands.
Formulated to relieve and protect against painful tooth sensitivity, the toothpaste is designed for patients who want both sensitivity relief and fresh breath with cavity protection. The formula includes potassium nitrate to build increasing protection against painful sensitivity of the teeth to cold, heat, acids, sweets, or contact; sodium fluoride for anticavity protection to help prevent tooth decay; an SLS-free base to minimize patient aversions; gentle whitening with no harsh abrasives; and a Gentle Mint flavor with mild peppermint and a note of aloe vera. The product is certified vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, and made in the United States with US and internationally sourced ingredients.
“We developed TheraBreath Sensitive so patients don’t have to sacrifice fresh breath for sensitivity relief. The SLS-free formula with potassium nitrate delivers both, without irritation,” said Anthony Cirigliano, lead product development engineer for TheraBreath.
"Sensitivity affects millions of patients, and they deserve a solution that does more than just manage discomfort. TheraBreath Sensitive gives dental professionals a complete option to recommend: sensitivity relief, fresh breath, and gentle whitening in one tube,” said Xi Chen, marketing director at Church & Dwight.
The new product joins the brand’s toothpaste portfolio, which includes TheraBreath Healthy Gums Toothpaste, formulated to help prevent plaque and gingivitis in a clinical study with twice daily brushing versus regular toothpaste; TheraBreath Deep Clean Toothpaste, which kills 99.9% of germs that cause bad breath, plaque, and gingivitis in laboratory tests; and TheraBreath Whitening Toothpaste, a peroxide-free formula that removes surface stains with visible whitening after one week of twice-daily brushing.
All TheraBreath toothpastes can be paired with TheraBreath oral rinses for at-home hygiene routines. The brand was founded by Dr. Harold Katz, who created the oral care rinses at the California Breath Clinics more than 30 years ago.
